Core Courses for all use

Introduction to SI 5
This course provides a D-Tools software tour (Navigator, MMPD and Text interfaces) Course gives a macro tour of the software showing these interfaces and demonstrating where specific functions of the software are performed.
 
Software Setup & Configuration
Class covers all setup & configuration functions essential to implementing the software for your business.  Learn to setup company specific settings, labor rates, preferences and other essential elements to configuring D-Tools for your company.
 
Database Entry
This course introduces the user to the D-Tools product database with an in depth tour and demonstrates multiple strategies for entering data, including download, manual entry and csv import.
 
Database Management
This course introduces the user to D-Tools packages, demonstrating best practices for package creation and management. The course also demonstrates multiple strategies for database management and administration. 

Sales Level 1
Course covers the process of creating a new project in the text interface, adding equipment and packages to the data matrix, using client reports to generate proposals and contracts and adjustment of labor and other project factors.

Revision Management
This course provides instruction on creating and managing project revisions and using these project revisions to generate change order reports and comparisons between revisions.

Design/ Engineering Courses


Visio Basics & Line Diagram Design
Course provides an introduction to basic Visio tools & utilities. Also covered is the use of the line diagram signal flow drawing page.  Use of jpeg shapes will be covered as well as other tips.

Plan View Design
Course covers the process of creating plan view documentation in Visio, including proper cad file format, insertion of cad files, documentation of trim and pre-wire on the drawing page, and use of corresponding installation reports.

Elevation View Design
Course covers the process of creating elevation documentation in Visio.  Demonstrates the process of creating equipment rack elevations, using cabinet tools to create dimensionally accurate cabinet drawings.

Schematic View Design
Course covers the process of creating point to point schematic drawings.  Topics covered will be use of Auto Layout and the Wire Wizard.  Best practices for signal flow management and page layout will be addressed.  All corresponding installation reports will be demonstrated.

Business Manager
Session builds familiarity, knowledge and skills required to set up, and utilize D-Tools Business Manager for creating Sales and Work Orders. 

QuickLinks Interface
Build familiarity and skills needed to set up and use QuickLinks accounting interface.  Session covers setting up QuickLinks preferences, step by step tutorial using a sample project including creating estimates, invoices, purchase orders, items, customers and jobs.

The Reporting Center
Course provides an introduction and detailed overview of the D-Tools SI 5 Reporting Center.  The interface is reviewed, demonstrated and reporting options and tips are explained.

Report Designer
This course covers the process for customizing reports using the SI 5 Reporting Center. Topics include adding fields to reports, inserting images, modifying header and footer in reports and using filtering and sorting capabilities to alter report generation content.

Database Workshop
The Database Workshop provides an interactive environment for database entry and management questions to be answered. It is very strongly recommended that you submit your questions in advance of the workshop. Questions submit in advance will be given priority on a first come first serve basis. Questions will be answered as session time permits.

Visio Workshop
The Visio Workshop provides an interactive environment for Visio design and documentation related questions to be answered. It is very strongly recommended that you submit your questions in advance of the workshop. Questions submit in advance will be given priority on a first come first serve basis.
