Zigbee's open 2.4 GHz standard powers some of the largest smart-home ecosystems on the market, but HVAC is usually left out. Inverter mini-split and VRF units speak manufacturer-specific protocols that Zigbee controllers can't read, so climate control ends up out of the equation or bridged through crude on/off logic that sacrifices modulation, efficiency, and comfort.

It wires to the indoor unit's communication port and joins the project's Zigbee network , communicating with the unit in the manufacturer's native protocol, with full two-way control. Theory is debuting a very capable, innovative, and sleek looking pendant loudspeaker, the p9, at CEDIA Expo 2026. Slated for release early 2027, p9 unites lively dynamics, high maximum output level, and refined acoustic performance all packed into a slender and handsome package. Its 9" driver (that fits into an 8" chassis – figure that one out!) includes a Theorem™ axi-symetric waveguide and a carbon fiber sandwich low frequency diaphragm, providing wide bandwidth, high output sound all the way from 45Hz – 20kHz. Even when used in foreground music applications – no subwoofer is necessary.
The p9 offers extremely wide dispersion (120-degrees) to the highest frequencies, ensuring a massive coverage area. Everyone hears wide-band, detailed sound - even when installed in low ceiling environments. The frequency response is also remarkably flat and extended, ensuring the highest accuracy and resolution available. Even at very low volume, the p9 delivers sound that is crystal clear, open and delicate, making it ideal for background music applications too.

The P3m's distinctive crescent-shaped woofer apertures act as acoustic lenses, smoothing the front baffle to reduce tweeter diffraction, while making the two woofers behave as though they are positioned closer together - improving dispersion and reducing interference through the crossover region and lowering the woofer frequency response. Behind each aperture sits Wisdom Audio's patent-pending Dual-Helmholtz Resonator, which uses two slightly different tuning points to control unwanted resonances more effectively despite normal manufacturing variations.
