Steve Greenblatt of AVNation interviews Tim Bigoness, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at D-Tools, about the company’s newest software for commercial installers.
This year at InfoComm 2014, D-Tools presented the latest version of software system Integrator SIX, the new iPad Mobile Quote app and Free Tools drawing application for Vizio.
D-Tools software is perfect for “system estimates, design, and project management,” says Bigoness, speaking about the advances the company has made in the platform and why mobile is becoming a bigger part of the D-Tools strategy.
The right application for any job facilitates “detailed documentation and streamlined processes,” he adds, calling the SIX a “data-driven process.”
“Salespeople can specify the job and bring that into engineering, the engineering team can use that bill of materials developed as part of the proposal for their system design and documentation, and then the project managers can use that same project file to schedule the install work in the field,” says Bigoness.
Also showcased was the new D-Tools iPad app called Mobile Quote. It allows you to generate a quote with a customer, and leave with an exact number and sign-off to bring back to the engineers.
Bigoness also talks about why being part of the InfoComm community is important to D-Tools.
