Established in 2002, Spinnaker Multimedia Solutions in Malvern, PA, focuses on providing technology solutions for houses of worship. The market can often involve complex installations that require integrating lighting, audio, video, livestreaming, acoustics and high-speed networks.
To design and engineer these sophisticated solutions that are aimed at engaging congregations, sharing information and reaching out to new members, Spinnaker has relied on D-Tools System Integrator (SI) software for nearly two decades.
“The reason using D-Tools System Integrator is important is with the job we do and all the different things we have with equipment, labor and all the wire, being able to change that and do it very easily has just been instrumental for us being profitable,” says Justin Morris, field engineer at Spinnaker Multimedia Solutions.
The company uses Microsoft Visio diagramming software to design its systems, then integrates those drawings into D-Tools SI.

He especially likes the flexibility D-Tools SI allows when he has to swap out equipment from the initial proposal based on customer feedback.
“One thing that D-Tools SI has helped me is that we build system-based stuff, like audio, video, networking, and then the customer says, ‘You know what, I can’t do the audio right now.’ So, it’s great to be able to have the same proposal, quote it, take out those components and move on. D-Tools SI makes it really easy to do that instead of starting from scratch. I am able to get rid of product, add product, phase it out, unphase it, change the systems… all that. Every single project we do it’s just instrumental with D-Tools SI.”
Lastly, Morris says the convenience of the D-Tools Integrated Product Library saves him time as he is able to import product quickly into his proposals and designs.
“These are things that most people don’t think about. But when you’ve got to connect everything together, and plug all these wires together, those features are definitely helpful,” he notes.
