D-Tools Cloud: Hosting, Security & Data Protection
1. Current Uptime History / SLA
D-Tools Cloud is designed for high availability and is hosted on Microsoft Azure.
- Current system status, uptime history, and scheduled or historical incidents are available at: https://status.d-tools.cloud
- We perform routine maintenance and product updates during scheduled maintenance windows, which currently occur on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month during off-peak U.S. hours. As we continue to increase our release cadence, additional scheduled maintenance windows may be introduced. All planned maintenance is communicated in advance through our public status page.
- Maintenance windows typically last 1–3 hours.
- Outside of scheduled maintenance, our performance uptime is 99%.
2. Cloud Infrastructure / Hosting Environment
D-Tools Cloud is hosted entirely within Microsoft Azure using enterprise-grade cloud services, including:
- Microsoft Azure for application hosting, databases, APIs, storage, and platform services
- Microsoft Foundry for AI-powered capabilities
- Microsoft Entra External ID for identity management and customer authentication
All production systems are hosted within Microsoft-managed U.S. Azure data centers.
3. Backup & Disaster Recovery
Customer data is protected through Azure SQL’s managed backup capabilities, including:
- Continuous transaction log backups
- Automated full and differential backups
- Point-in-time recovery capabilities
These capabilities are designed to support business continuity and disaster recovery of the D-Tools Cloud platform. Backups are securely maintained within Azure’s resilient managed storage and enable recovery following events such as infrastructure failures, platform issues, or other operational incidents.
4. Backup Frequency
Database backups occur continuously through Azure SQL’s automated backup process, providing point-in-time recovery capabilities with minimal potential data loss.
5. Backup Retention
- Production databases are configured with a 35-day point-in-time recovery window.
- Active customer data is retained within the production platform.
- Customer accounts are not deleted when subscriptions end; accounts may be marked inactive while data remains preserved.
- Project-level exports remain available following account termination in accordance with our Terms of Service.
6. Recovery Process
In the event of a service interruption or platform-level data issue, our engineering team follows established recovery procedures designed to restore service as quickly as possible.
Azure SQL supports point-in-time recovery within the configured backup retention period. These recovery capabilities are intended for platform disaster recovery and operational resilience, rather than on-demand restoration of individual customer accounts or projects.
Customer-initiated in-app deletions
- Quotes support a soft-delete recovery window.
- Other record recovery requests are evaluated individually. Restoration from platform backups is not a standard customer-requested service and is assessed on a case-by-case basis to protect the integrity of the overall platform.
7. Customer Data Protection
Customer data is protected using multiple layers of security, including:
- Encryption in transit using TLS/HTTPS
- Encryption at rest within Azure SQL
- Microsoft Entra External ID for authentication and identity management
- Logical tenant isolation
- Continuous security reviews, monitoring, and vulnerability remediation
D-Tools Cloud operates within Microsoft Azure’s enterprise infrastructure, which maintains numerous internationally recognized security and compliance certifications.
8. Data Export Capabilities
CSV exports are available for:
- Clients (Accounts)
- Contacts
- Products
- Inventory
- Opportunities
- Quotes
- Projects
- Change Orders
- Purchase Orders
- Invoices
PDF exports are available for:
- Proposals
- Invoices
- Installer Reports
Reporting and dashboard data can also be exported.
9. API Access
D-Tools Cloud provides a public REST API that allows customers and integration partners to securely access business data programmatically.
Supported resources include:
- Opportunities
- Quotes
- Projects
- Change Orders
- Purchase Orders
- Service Calls
- Service Contracts
- Catalog Products
The API is intended for integration and reporting purposes. Customers can retrieve and maintain external copies of their data through the API.
Note: Complete round-trip export and re-import of projects or transactional records is not currently supported.
10. Sign In Security
Sign-in security for DTC today is Multi-Factor Authentication. Single Sign-On is currently on our roadmap.
